SBF Team : What first got you into this profession?
ELYSE :
Ever since I was little, I always loved to sing. When I was in fourth grade, I performed on a stage in front of people for the first time ever. It was in that moment that I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to sing in front of people and make music. I didn’t know how I was going to do it but I knew that this was what I was meant to do with my life. From that moment on, I kept singing and kept performing anywhere I possibly could and a while later, an opportunity presented itself. I was approached by Andrew Lane who happened to be judging a local open mic competition I performed in and ended up winning and he asked if I’d like to work with him. My family and I thought about it and prayed about it over several months and decided to sign with him. That was when I really started pursuing my career in entertainment.

SBF Team : Who or what inspired you to make music?
ELYSE :
I think the first time I ever performed on a stage was what inspired me to get into the industry. At the time, I was in the fourth grade so I didn’t really know what the industry was, but that moment when I first sang in front of an audience for the very first time, I knew I wanted to sing in front of people and make music for the rest of my life. I knew that was what I was supposed to do.

SBF Team : How would you describe the music that you typically create?
ELYSE :
I started out creating very mainstream pop style music. Recently I’ve started transitioning into more of a pop/country type of sound. My voice is very much a “pop voice” but it sort of lends itself towards country and I really love pop/country music sound with a strong acoustic guitar vibe in the newer tracks.

SBF Team : Our readers would like to know more about your track “Can’t Have Me” ?
ELYSE :
It was such a fun project to work on. I wrote the song a while ago and recorded it with my producer, Andrew Lane, and then filmed the music video with Jeff Marino and Muiscash. They were all so friendly and amazing and the video turned out so great! I had such a good time with them and was so grateful for the opportunity!

SBF Team : You must be very happy with the kind of response you received from the release?
ELYSE :
I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback! Which was so exciting! I had quite a few people tell me that after day 1 of listening to it on repeat, they already knew all of the words and were scream-singing it at the top of their lungs. Others were telling me how they could really relate to the lyrics due to situations they’ve been through. I had some people tell me that it was stuck in their head and they would catch themselves singing it randomly all the time. It’s always so uplifting hearing such positive feedback, I was just really glad people were able to relate to it and that they enjoyed it.

SBF Team : Who would you most like to collaborate with?
ELYSE :
I would want to open for Carrie Underwood or Kelsea Ballerini. Since my music is starting to go more towards country/pop, and because I absolutely love both Carrie and Kelsea’s music, it would be so incredible to open for one of them.

SBF Team : What’s up next?
ELYSE :
I am currently working on finishing my first EP and with the release of that, I will be starting up little webisodes on my YouTube channel, so I’ve been working mostly on that.

SBF Team : What’s the best way your fans can contact you?
